Meet Dentist
D. E. ‘Ted’ Woolston, DDS, MBA, FAGD
Dr. Woolston is our new dentist, bringing over 32 years of experience in general dentistry. He is known for his calm, patient-first approach that helps even the most anxious patients feel at ease. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Woolston earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1993. After dental school, he joined the U.S. Navy as a Naval Dental Officer and served for three years with the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune. He continued his service as a reservist for the next 23 years, retiring with the rank of Captain. He practiced dentistry in the Charlotte are for the last 18 years. Woolston became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in 2006 and remains committed to continuing education and staying current with the latest advancements in dental technology. Outside the office, Dr. Woolston enjoys photography, cooking, and spending time with his daughter Rylie and his family.
Dr. Jeffrey Bauer
Dr. Jeffrey Bauer is a dedicated and experienced dentist with over 30 years of private practice experience, committed to providing compassionate, high-quality dental care to families in the Bluffton, South Carolina area.
A proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine (Class of 1998), Dr. Bauer began his career in the Pittsburgh region, where he built a strong foundation in general and cosmetic dentistry. He has since brought his expertise to Bluffton, continuing to serve patients with the same level of skill and personalized attention that has defined his practice for three decades.
Dr. Bauer excels in both family dentistry—helping patients of all ages maintain healthy smiles and cosmetic dentistry, where he helps create confident, beautiful results through procedures tailored to each individual’s needs. His approach emphasizes comfort, education, and long term oral health. Dr. Bauer is here to help you achieve and maintain a healthy, confident smile. Outside the office, Dr. Bauer is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Gretchen, are proud parents of three grown children. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending quality time with his loved ones. A lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, he brings the same passion and teamwork spirit to both his personal interests and his dentistry.

With over 32 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist, Rita brings a deep commitment to oral health, patient education, and preventive care. Throughout a decades-long career in dentistry, she has built a reputation for clinical excellence, compassion, and an ability to make patients feel comfortable and confident in their care. In addition to dentistry, Rita has a professional background in cosmetology, offering a unique perspective that bridges health, aesthetics, and personal confidence. This dual expertise enhances her approach to patient care-recognizing the strong connection between a healthy smile, appearance, and overall self-esteem.

Bio
Theresa Spear is a dental hygienist with over 31 years of experience providing high-quality preventive care and patient education. Originally from Florida, she moved to the Carolinas to raise her family and now resides in Bluffton. Theresa is known for her gentle chairside manner and commitment to helping patients feel comfortable while maintaining excellent oral health. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling on cruises, and all things Disney.
Susan
Bio
With twenty-five years of experience as an interior designer, Susan brings a unique blend of organization, creativity, and client-focused service to her role as Office Manager. She leverages her extensive background in managing projects, coordinating details, and creating welcoming environments to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently. Her keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and commitment to excellence help create a positive experience for both patients and staff from the moment they walk through the door. She enjoys baking, bike riding, and beach time.
Minda
Bio
Minda has been in the dental field for over nine years as a dental assistant as well as a patient care coordinator. She brings a warm, approachable energy to every patient interaction. She graduated from the College of Charleston with a BA in Public Health. She’s passionate about helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their smiles. Minda takes pride in creating a positive enthusiastic experience for everyone who walks through the door. Outside of the office, Minda enjoys staying active, spending time at the beach, and relaxing at home with her cat. She believes that a healthy smile goes hand-in-hand with a balanced, happy lifestyle—and she loves helping patients achieve both.

Bio
María is both our Office Administrator and a Dental Assistant, she takes pride in helping our patients feel comfortable and ensuring every visit runs smoothly from start to finish. She is always happy to help with scheduling, questions, or anything else you may need during your time with us. She was born and raised in the Lowcountry and graduated
from BLHS in 2019. Shortly after high school, she joined the U.S. Army Reserves, where she continues to serve with dedication and pride. Outside of the office, She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and staying active. She truly loves being part of a team that puts patient care first, and she looks forward to helping make your visit a positive experience.

Tina is a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant with a strong commitment to supporting high-quality patient care. With twenty five years experience in chair side assisting, infection control, and patient education, Tina plays an essential role in ensuring efficient, comfortable dental visits. Trained in assisting with a wide range of dental procedures, Tina is known for strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, calming presence that helps patients feel at ease. A team-oriented professional, Tina supports both patients and providers to maintain a smooth and welcoming clinical environment. Outside of the dental office, Tina is passionate about spending quality time with family, gardening, and caring for beloved pets—interests that reflect a nurturing, patient-focused approach both personally and professionally.
